UML’s objection to the government’s move to extend the tenure of the Parliament

CPN-UML has objected to the government’s move to extend the tenure of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives today, Member of Parliament Sher Bahadur Tamang said that the bill related to tenure should be withdrawn by addressing today’s parliament meeting from the government side. He stressed to the fact that Parliament should be dissolved after announcing the election. Tamang made it clear that taking the fresh mandate of the people should not be delayed and urged to accept the opinion of the people.

Similarly, MP Gokul Prasad Baskota commented that the alliance is trying to prolong the life of the parliament by imprisoning democracy in its fist. He asked what conspiracy they were trying to do in two months by extending the tenure of the House of Representatives and the State Assembly.

He commented that prolonging the life of the parliament means stifling democracy. Baskota made it clear that CPN-UML will not agree on this bill.
