Dahal leads ongoing vote count in Bharatpur metropolis

Renu Dahal, the mayoral candidate of the ruling coalition in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, has widened her differences with her nearest rival UML mayoral candidate Vijay Subedi in the ongoing counting of votes.

While the counting of votes is going on in Ward No. 6, Dahal has managed to maintain the margin of 1617 votes. In the 27,026 votes count held in Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Dahal has taken the lead with 9,801 votes while his nearest rival CPN-UML’s Vijay Subedi has got 8,184 votes.

Independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received 4439 votes. Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of Nepali Congress got 11740 votes while Himala Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party got 6668 votes.

Election Commission directs not to threat or force to withdraw candidature

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a statement today instructing the political parties, fraternal organizations and stakeholders not to use intimidation and threats to withdraw the candidatures of the candidates.

Statement says that it has drawn the attention of commission after they have received several notice and informations regarding the threat to candidates to withdraw the nomination.

After jagannath Poudel had filed an independent candidacy for the post of Bharatpur Metropolitan city aginst the alliance candidate Renu Dahal, home minister Mr.Khand and the several other ministers of the state have been Pushing him to withdraw the candidacy .
