Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister should attend the parliamentary committee: Prem Suwal

Kathmandu- Nepal Majdur Kisan Party’s lawmaker Prem Suwal has demanded that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Foreign Minister Arju Rana be called to the parliamentary committee.

He said that the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister should be called to discuss foreign visits.In the committee meeting held on Tuesday, lawmaker Suwal said, “Let’s call the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister and discuss foreign visits.”

He said that the committee should be informed about the agreements and initiatives made during the foreign visits. “This committee should be informed about what agreements were made and what initiatives were taken during the foreign visits.”

Tax imposed on Sugar Import is a collusion

Speaking in the discussion on Economic Bill 2080 in the House of Representatives meeting, Prem Suwal, a member of the House of Representatives, said that tax was imposed on sugar import in a collusion.

According to the government policy as there is a tax on sugar import,businesses are importing sugar illegally declaring it as a rice, as there is no tax in rice import and the finance minister pretends not to know about it, Suwal said.

Objecting to the imposition of infrastructure development tax on public transport used by the poor, Suwal has also demanded a 10 percent airport infrastructure development tax on aviation fuel.

Speaking in a meeting, Suwal said private telecom providers should be brought under state ownership and he also drew the attention of the government to arrange for no 2 percent charge on SIM card recharge up to Rs.300.
