An all-party meeting is being held at the invitation of Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota. The meeting held at Singha Durbar after 2 pm today is attended by top leaders of the parties represented in the parliament except the UML.

Leaders including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UCPN-M Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal and JSP Chairman Upendra Yadav are present at the meeting.

The meeting will focus on the latest political developments, including the impeachment of the Chief Justice. After the impeachment was filed against the Chief Justice on Sunday, Speaker Sapkota convened an all-party meeting to discuss the matter.

CPN-UML had said that it would not participate in the all-party meeting. Objecting to the role of the speaker and the activities of the government, the UML leaders said that they would not participate in the all-party meeting.

While the all-party meeting is going on, the meeting of the UML parliamentary party is going on at Lhotse Hall in Baneshwor. Most of the leaders, including UML Chairman KP Oli, have been reacting against the impeachment.
