Arrest warrant against 220 high-ranking official in Lalita Niwas case

Kathmandu District Court has issued arrest warrants against 220 high-ranking officials in the land case of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made final preparations to prosecute 220 high-ranking officials as the district court has issued arrest warrants against them. Although the names of the high ranking officials have not been disclosed, CBI has assured the involvement of politicians and big businessmen in the case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has prepared a report with the conclusion that 143 ropanis of land of Lalita Niwas has been confiscated, out of which 136 ropanis of land has been registered in the name of individuals.

According to the Central Bureau of Investigation, when Madhav Kumar Nepal became the Prime Minister of Nepal in 2066/07, the Land of Samarjung Company was registered in the name of a person by constructing a fake Mohi in the name of building the residence for a prominent person. During the Prime minister tenure of Baburam Bhattarai, a fake Tikincha Pashupati Guthi was established and 3 ropanis and 12 acres of land were registered in a name of the individual person.

The case filed by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority against 175 people including former Deputy Prime Minister Vijay Kumar Gachchhadar in a special court is still pending.
