Locals have protested against the death of 15-year-old Binod Shahi of Panchadewal Binayak Municipality-4 in Achham saying that the government prosecutor’s office had played a role in saving the accused.

The situation in Achham district headquarters Mangalsen has become tense due to clashes between police and locals after locals tried to surround the district government prosecutor’s office and court during the protest. Police have also fired tear gas and aerial fire to control the situation.

Police had arrested seven people, including Mayor Ambika Chalaune during the investigation.
