CPN-UML Mugu district MP Mohan Bania has been suspended. The House of Representatives on Sunday suspended the accused from the post.

Mugu MP Baniya, who was accused of rape, was arrested by the police from Nepalgunj Airport. He has been remanded in custody for further investigation by the court.

A complaint was lodged with the police alleging that Baniya had raped a 40-year-old woman at Apsara Hotel in Nepalgunj on February 2. The victim had lodged a complaint against Baniya at the District Police Office, Banke on February 10.
