Curfew in Letang to be lifted from tomorrow

The curfew order imposed in Letang of Morang from March 20 will be lifted from March 24, tomorrow. A press release issued by the District Administration Office, Morang today said that the curfew order imposed in Letang on March 20 will be lifted from 6 am tomorrow.

A curfew order was issued in a statement signed by Morang Chief District Officer Kansi Raj Dahal as the students, parents and locals clashed with the police after the incident of sexual abuse of the girl student by a teacher.

A mob of students and guardians stormed the school, vandalizing the school and attacking female police officers with sharp weapons. Police constable Urmila Shrestha, who was injured after being stabbed in the neck, died on the way to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a six-member committee has been formed under the leadership of SSP Rajendra Kumar Chaudhary of State 1 Police Office to investigate the incident.
