Kathmandu- The decision to lift suspension of Nepali Congress MP Tek Bahadur Gurung is to be reviewed. The Supreme Court, issuing an order on the petition of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, has allowed a review of the decision to lift Gurung’s suspension.
Earlier, a bench of Supreme Court Justices Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma and Binod Sharma had quashed the suspension decision, saying that Gurung’s suspension was flawed. The full bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, Bal Krishna Dhakal and Nripadhwaj Niraula allowed the review, saying that the decision was contrary to the legal principles enunciated by the Supreme Court.
Gurung was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Manang in the 2079 BS general election.
Gurung was found guilty by a special court in the land rent case of BhriKutimandap.
