EC asked 24-hours explanation to five Journalist Association

Election Commission has asked journalists’ organizations close to the parties in the ruling coalition for a 24-hour explanation after they issued a statement urging voters to cast their vote in favor of five-party alliance.

The Nepal Press Union of Nepali Congress, the Press Center of CPN (Maoist Center), the Socialist Press Organization of CPN (Unified Socialist), the Nepal Press Forum of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and the Progressive Journalists Association of Rastriya Janamorcha combinely issued an statement urging to cast their vote for five-party alliance.

The commission has directed Badri Sigdel, president of the union, Bishnu Sapkota, president of the center, Shambhu Shrestha, president of the socialist press organization, Keshav Aryal, president of the Nepal press forum and Shyamlal Pokhrel, secretary of the progressive journalist association to give explanations within 24 hours.
