Five arrested in an attempt of smuggling gold hiding in a toilet of Himalayan Airlines plane

The security office of Tribhuvan International Airport has arrested five persons for smuggling about 2.5 kg of gold.

According to Airport Police Chief Bhim Prasad Dhakal, it has been revealed that an attempt was made to smuggle gold by hiding it in the toilet of the plane.
Police have arrested Himalayan Airlines flight attendants Suman Tamang, Bhim Awale and Supervisor Tarkant Chaudhary on gold smuggling charges. They are said to have helped pass the gold hidden in the toilet on a Himalayan Airlines flight.
Among the arrested are Rajesh Rai, 28, of Udayapur and Hem Bahadur Thapa, 41, of Dolakha.
