Germany tops Olympic medal table

Germany has risen to the top of the medal table in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Germany has won the most 5 gold and 3 silver medals. Norway, which dropped to second place, won four gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

Sweden won 4 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals while the Netherlands won 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal. Organizer China has won 3 gold and 2 silver medals.

The United States has won 2 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze, and Austria has won 2 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze. Italy won 2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze while the Russian Olympic Committee won 2 gold, 3 silver and 6 bronze medals.
