Gopal Krishna Ghimire elected as the president of Nepal Bar Association

Gopal Krishna Ghimire has been elected as the president of Nepal Bar Association, an umbrella organization of legal practitioners. Ghimire of the Comprehensive Democratic Progressive Inclusive and Professional Law Practitioners Group has been elected as the chairperson with 4433 votes. His nearest rival Bishnumani Adhikari got 2482 votes. Similarly, Anjita Khanal of Ghimire Group has been elected as the General Secretary of the Bar. Khanal got 3682 votes. Her nearest rival Kedar Prasad Koirala has got 2989 votes.

Ghimire panel has also won over other office bearers and members. In the election, there was competition between the Progressive and Professional Law Practitioners Group and the Comprehensive Democratic Progressive Inclusive and Professional Law Practitioners Group for a new working committee.
Elections have been held for a 25-member working committee comprising 11 office bearers and members including the chairperson.
