Government preparing for appointment of IGP of Nepal Police and APF

The government has started preparations for the appointment of a new Inspector General after Inspector General of Nepal Police Shailesh Thapa Chhetri and Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Pushparam KC are going on compulsory leave from today.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers has also been convened for 11 a.m. today to discuss the appointment of Inspector General of Nepal Police and Armed Police. Prior to the meeting, Prime Minister Deuba had met the e Home Minister and other top leaders of the alliance at his residence in Baluwatar.

Raju Aryal, who was earlier promoted to AIG by the cabinet meeting on behalf of the Armed Police Force, is the sole claimant while Bishwaraj Pokharel, Sahakul Bahadur Thapa, Dhiraj Pratap Singh and Rabindra Bahadur Dhanuk are the claimants on behalf of the Nepal Police.
