After the second attempt, Janakpur has been selected as the capital of Province 2.
Today’s vote to decide the capital of the province has decided Janakpur as the capital of the province. Out of the total 99 MPs present today, 78 had voted in favour of Janakpur. Announcing the final results of the vote, Speaker Saroj Kumar Yadav announced Janakpur as the capital of state 2.
According to the state assembly secretariat, the proposal to finalize the name of the state may also go ahead through the election today.
