Kathmandu – Speaking at the ongoing Central Committee meeting in Kathmandu , CPN-Maoist Center Deputy General Secretary Janardhan Sharma has expressed that the party chairman should be elected through the electoral process.

Sharma said that since the party’s statutory conference had decided that all party committees would be elected through the electoral process, now the chairman should also be elected through the same process.

“When the statutory conference has established the method of forming all party committees through the electoral process, why shouldn’t it be implemented in the case of the chairman?” Why should he be afraid of being elected through the election, he said.

Discussing the criticism that Prachanda is always running the party like a private company and becoming the chairman, he expressed the view that the chairman should be elected through the election to overcome such criticism.
