Chitwan – Efforts to clear the landslide near the Tuin Khola bridge on the Narayangadh–Muglin road resumed early this morning, according to the Bharatpur Road Division Office. Excavators have been mobilized from both the Muglin and Narayangadh sides to remove the debris.

However, stonefall continues in the area. The office said if no further landslides occur and work progresses without interruption, traffic could reopen soon.

Since Friday, continuous landslides at Tuin Khola in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality, Chitwan, have blocked the highway, leaving passengers stranded overnight. A long line of vehicles remains backed up on both sides of the road.

The District Administration Office and police arranged food and drinking water for stranded passengers on Saturday afternoon and evening, while local businesses along the highway were also requested to assist travelers.

The Tuin Khola area lies about 2.5 kilometers from Muglin towards Narayangadh. With Dashain approaching and the main highway blocked, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport held discussions on Saturday. Minister Kulman Ghising instructed authorities to reopen the road as soon as possible and make alternative arrangements.

The Bharatpur Road Division Office has advised travelers to use alternative routes. Suggested detours include Naubise–Daman–Hetauda and the Kaligandaki Corridor via Muglin–Bhimaad–Dedhgaun–Gaindakot.
