The central committee meeting of the ruling CPN-Maoist will be held today.

The meeting of the UCPN (M) Central Committee started last Friday. Sunday the meeting was postponed twice. According to the secretary of the UCPN(M) central office, the meeting will be held today at 11 am.

He said that the agenda of today’s meeting will include the completion of the central committee, the formation of the politburo, and the formation of the standing committee.

The Maoists have started preparations for the selection of a standing committee along with the office-bearers. Current issues including MCC were discussed in the meeting last Friday.

According to Dhakal, the agenda of the meeting will be the formulation of action plan and organization. The eighth general convention of the Maoists held last December had selected 247 central members.
