The road to the second camp of Everest is open. A team of Icefall Doctors, tasked with building the road to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, has built the road from the base camp to the second camp.
According to the Everest Pollution Control Committee (SPCC). The Icefall Doctor, experienced snowman are working on signs, ladders, and ropes.
As soon as the road to the second camp is opened, the climbers are allowed to go there, said SPCC vice-president Lama Kaji Sherpa. Climbers can go to the second camp only after the SPCC gives permission. The Camp will be set up in the second base camp soon, as the climbers have to reach the second base camp and return back to acclimatize themselves for climbing.
He informed that 15 ladders were used from the base camp to the second camp this time. Earlier, 32 ladders were used in 2018, but only 20 were used in 2019.
Lhotse and Nuptse mountains, including Mount Everest, are also climbed using the road to the second camp. In the base camp, it is customary for each group to worship according to the Buddhist tradition and ask for forgiveness and strength before stepping on the mountain.
