The Prime Minister and President of the Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba is holding internal discussions on the US aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) to get majority support for the approval.
He set to hold talks with party leaders to work out a majority for the MCC. Prime Minister Deuba has summoned the leaders who are seen to be moving the MCC forward at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar at 2 pm today.
General Secretary Gagan Thapa, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, Communications Minister Gyanendra Karki, Law Minister Dilendra Badu, Parliamentary Party Whip Pushpa Bhusal and others have been called for discussions, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
Prime Minister Deuba is trying to get the ruling Maoist centre and the CPN-Unified Socialists to vote for the MCC.
In today’s discussion, Deuba is ready to give responsibility to some leaders for homework inside and outside the coalition to get a majority in favour of MCC.
