Protest at Maitighar against decision to make national identity card mandatory

Kathmandu – A protest has been held at Maitighar in Kathmandu under the leadership of the Nepal Information Technology Society against the decision to make national identity card mandatory.

The participants in the protest said that the national identity card should be stopped making mandatory as it is the national identity card that is destroying the future of Nepalese providing all information about its citizens to foreigners.

They said that it is time for all Nepalese to unite and speak out against the national identity card, and they displayed placards including “Abolish the national identity card, Establish cyberspace sovereignty “.
