Kathmandu – Police have rescued a Chinese national who was kidnapped from Thamel, Kathmandu.
The Valley Crime Investigation Office began an investigation after receiving reports that a Chinese national was kidnapped from Thamel on Tuesday and four Indian nationals were taken into custody from Bhimphedi, Makawanpur while they were found involved in the kidnapping , according to the Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari.
“We set up checkpoints at possible locations where they could go after the chinese national was being taken away in a vehicle with an Indian number plate,” said SSP Sanuram Bhattarai of the office.
According to Bhattarai, although the police took control of the driver and an Indian national, the others initially fled. Later, Bhattarai informed that four Indian nationals were arrested in coordination with the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
The police have not yet revealed the names of the arrested and rescued person.
