Ruling coalition discussing about electoral coordination in Madhesh

The ruling coalition parties have decided to mobilize the party leadership in their districts to review all the municipalities and villages in Madhes and submit a report for a possible election alliance in the upcoming local elections.

According to the Janata Samajwadi Party, Madhes Pradesh, a meeting of the partners of the ruling coalition to intensify the preparations for the upcoming local elections has decided to send a letter to all the eight district-level coalitions to review the individual municipalities and submit their reports by May 8.

During the meeting held at the state office of the Nepali Congress in Janakpurdham, they discussed about how to coordinate the election and which party will field candidates at different local levels of the state, said Yadav. He said that further discussions would be held after receiving the report on the situation of each municipality and village in the state.

The meeting was attended by the state chairpersons and senior leaders of the ruling parties including the ruling Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (Unified Socialist).

The ruling coalition has already decided to coordinate in the upcoming election.

Following the decision, the ruling coalition parties in Madhes have also intensified discussions for electoral coordination.

There are 136 local level governments in Madhes including one metropolis.
