Talks have been held between Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Dr. Govind KC in Baluwatar.
During the talks, Prime Minister Deuba’s commitment to Dr. KC and Dr. KC’s seven-point demand was discussed. KC was present along with his aides at the talk while former health minister Gagan Thapa and other officials were present on behalf of the government.
Dr KC had demanded to revoke the license of all the medical colleges that illegally charge extra fees, immediate dismissal of CTEVT Vice President Khagendra Prasad Adhikari and the officials of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan involved in corruption and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the case, including the other several issues that needed to be addressed.
Dr KC had repeatedly gone on hunger strikes and sit-ins on various issues during the tenure of various governments. While in the role of opposition, Congress had supported Dr Kc saying that his demands need to be addressed. Now it has been a matter of common interest, whether his demands will be addressed or not while Congress is running the government.
