Poland is about to expel the Russian diplomat on suspicion of working for Russia’s intelligence agency under the guise of a diplomat.

It has identified 45 Russian intelligence officials working in Poland as diplomats. According to Stanislav Jarrin, a spokesperson for the Polish Foreign Ministry, the diplomats are spying against Poland and its allies.

A spokesman for Poland’s foreign intelligence service said in a statement that the country’s foreign intelligence service had provided a list of diplomats working for Russia’s foreign intelligence service.

Russia, meanwhile, is preparing to respond to Poland’s expulsion of its diplomat, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Relations between Russia and Poland have soured as the Ukraine crisis continues. Poland is a strategic partner of the United States. Poland has been a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) since 1999.

It has been almost a month since Russia launched a military strike on Ukraine after Ukraine tried to join NATO. Countries including the United States have come out against Russia.
