Public Transport fare increased in Bagmati Province

The fare of public transport operated in Kathmandu Valley has been increased. The Bagmati Pradesh government has increased the fare of public transport in 13 districts of Bagmati Pradesh including the Kathmandu Valley which will be effective from 14 April.

The fare of public transport operating within Bagmati Pradesh has been adjusted as per the decision of the Ministry.”

The Bagmati state government has increased fares in Kathmandu Valley on the basis of kilometers. The fare for public transport in the Kathmandu Valley has been fixed at Rs 20 for zero to five kilometers, Rs 25 for 10 kilometers, Rs 30 for 15 kilometers, Rs 33 for 20 kilometers and Rs 38 for more than 20 kilometers.

Similarly, the fare for passenger vehicles operating outside the Kathmandu Valley has already been increased by 10 percent from October 18 2021.

The fare for petroleum-powered taxis in the state has been fixed at Rs 50 for every 50 meters and Rs 10 per 200 meters and Rs 9 per 200 meter for electric taxi services.
