43 candidates for 19 National Assembly seats

A total of 43 candidates have filed nominations for 19 seats in the National Assembly election scheduled for January 26.

In the National Assembly election, the common candidate of the ruling coalition and the candidate of the main opposition party CPN-UML will be running for the seat.

Under the coalition government, the Congress is running for six seats, the Maoist Center and the Unified Socialists for five seats, the Janata Samajwadi Party for two seats and the Rastriya Janamorcha for one seat.

A total of 2,025 voters will cast their votes in the election, including 532 members of the state assembly, 1493 village chairpersons and vice chairpersons and municipal chiefs and deputy chiefs. The final list of candidates will be published on the 25th of Poush and election symbol will be provided.
