Aston Villa’s head coach Steven Gerrard out of the club

Aston Villa has sacked its head coach Steven Gerrard.

He was sacked by the club after Aston Villa lost 3-0 to Fulham in the English Premier League on Thursday. Aston Villa is in 17th position after the match while Fulham managed its position in 9th.

“We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him all the best for the future,” a statement on Aston Villa’s webpage read.

Gerrard, who replaced Dean Smith in November 2021, spent three years in his first managerial post with the Scottish club Rangers. A former Liverpool midfielder, Gerrard made 504 Premier League appearances for the Reds during a distinguished 17-year professional career at Anfield and was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2021.
