Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has convened a meeting of the Council of Ministers. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Deuba convened a meeting of the Council of Ministers in Baluwatar at 3 pm today.

Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers is preparing to announce the date of local elections.

In a meeting of the three parties held on Sunday, Prime Minister Deuba had informed that the date of local elections would be announced from the next cabinet meeting. An earlier meeting of the ruling coalition had decided to announce the date of the election as per the recommendation of the Election Commission.
The Commission had recommended to the Prime Minister to announce the date of local elections on 18th may 2022.
