The Asset Laundering and Investigation Department has started investigating the assets of the family and relatives of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamser Rana.

Dr Govinda KC had lodged a complaint with the department demanding an investigation into the assets of the Chief Justice and his family members and relatives. It has come to known that a team including the investigation officer has started an investigation based on the complaint. On behalf of the Greater Civil Movement, Dr Govinda KC had lodged a complaint on Sunday demanding an investigation into the assets of Rana, his wife, brother and relatives. In the complaint, it has been demanded to investigate the assets of the judges, officials and employees of the constitutional bodies who assisted Rana.

In the investigation process, the department has also completed preparations to write to the Land Revenue Office to look at the land details, NRB to look at the bank balance and Nepal Securities Board to look at the shares. As it is not possible to investigate the assets of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamser Rana while he is in office, the department has stated that the investigation process of the assets of his family and relatives has been taken forward.
