China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has warned that by interfering in the Taiwan issue, Washington is trying to weaken China’s sovereignty, which may cause great danger in the near future.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in a meeting with his American counterpart Antony Blinken in New York, said that the United States should change its approach to China in order to unite the two powers on the world stage.

According to Wang, China considers the self-governing island as its territory and will resist any foreign diplomatic and military aid to Taipei. He also said that the US has no right to interfere because the issue of Taiwan is an internal matter of China.

Wang also said he hopes that the US will correct its attitude towards China and stop trying to put pressure on Taiwan matter.

On the other hand, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that Blinken talked about the need to maintain an open line of communication with Beijing and is committed to maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait in line with the ‘one-China’ policy.
