Leaders of Nepali Congress Pokhara and Kaski arrived in Kathmandu for a delegation after the Unified Socialist claimed mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City in the ruling coalition.
District leaders led by former minister Yagya Bahadur Thapa have arrived in Kathmandu for the delegation. Arriving in Kathmandu with the stance of not leaving the post of mayor of Pokhara, they have scheduled to meet top leaders including the Prime Minister and party president Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Leaders of the ruling CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-Unified Socialist Party and Janata Samajwadi Party have proposed the Congress to take three metropolises and leave three for the other parties in the coalition. They have proposed congress to take Kathmandu, Biratnagar and Lalitpur while Bharatpur will be taken by Maoists, Birgunj by JASAPA and Pokhara by Unified Socialists .
In the last election, UML candidate Man Bahadur GC had won in Pokhara Metropolitan City with 60,118 votes. Congress candidate Ramji Kunwar lost with 46,416 votes.
