A two-day Curfew order has been issued in Siraha after CK Raut-led Janmat Party activists vandalized vehicles and started protests on the road .
The Siraha administration has issued a restraining order for Tuesday and Wednesday after Janmat Party activists vandalized vehicles and started protesting against the arrest of their cadres by the police. The injunction will be from 5 am to 7 pm. Chief District Officer Lal Babu Kawari has informed that they will not be allowed to walk outside, gather and engage in any other kind of political activities during the ban period. Traffic on the National Highway and Siraha Choharwa road section will remain smooth during the ban period.
Police had filed a case against four persons and arrested one on the charge of looting wheat after some farmers took the wheat themselves on December 20, alleging that the government had delayed the distribution of wheat seeds stored at the local health post. The Janmat Party led by Sike Raut has been protesting in Siraha for the past few days saying that their cadres have been arrested on the same issue.
