The Election Commission has urged the government to announce the date of local elections immediately.

Earlier, the commission convened an all-party meeting to discuss the election and a press release has been issued by the commission urging to announce the date of immediate elections.

The commission has requested the government to announce the date immediately saying that the local level election should be held before the end of the term of the local level as per the provision of Article 4 of the Local Level Election Act, 2073 BS.
