The students have locked up the Kathmandu Medical College, saying they have been charged extra fees. Students are complaining that the college is charging extra fees of up to Rs 2 million per student.

According to the students, the college administration has been pressuring the students to pay the extra fees. The college has been running separate classes for the students who agreed to pay an extra fee. The students will be conducting a relay hunger strike at the college from tomorrow until the college administration addresses their demand.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued instructions to the concerned district administrations to take action against the medical colleges that charge extra fees.
