Madhesh government withdraws language bill after widespread protests

Janakpur- After widespread protests, the Madhesh provincial government has withdrawn the bill 2081 made to make provisions for language.

Speaking in the provincial assembly on Friday, Education and Culture Minister Rani Sharma Tiwari proposed to withdraw the bill.

Minister Tiwari said that there was an error in the bill and that she felt that the Tharu language should also be included .

Earlier, while presenting the language bill proposal in the parliament on Wednesday, Minister Tiwari bypass the Tharu language and proposed the Hindi and English to be made the official working languages.
