Kathmandu — Nepal lost to Scotland by one wicket in the ongoing ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup cricket tournament held at the UKM Oval Cricket Ground in Malaysia today.
Chasing a target of 74 runs set by Nepal, Scotland achieved the victory in 18.4 overs for the loss of nine wickets.
This is Nepal’s second consecutive defeat in the tournament. Nepal had lost to Bangladesh in the previous match. With the win, Scotland has strengthened its chances of reaching the Super Six. Scotland had lost to Australia in the first match.
In today’s match Pippa Sproul scored 35 runs in 47 balls with the help of three fours. Similarly, Gabriella Fontenella added 12 runs.
Nepal’s Simana KC and Rachana Chaudhary took two wickets each, while captain Pooja Mahato and Krishna Gurung took one wicket each. For Nepal, captain Pooja Mahato scored 27 runs in 43 balls with the help of three fours.
Similarly, except for Savitri Dhami who scored 10 runs, no other batsman could score double figures. For Scotland, Maisie McKira took five wickets alone, while Ami Baldi and Naima Sheikh took two wickets each.Similarly, Christy Myacol took one wicket.
