The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has amended the Education Act so that there is no age limit in SEE. Accordingly, students of any age will be considered eligible to appear for the Secondary Education Examination Class 10 (SEE) examination to be held on April 22.
Earlier, there was an arrangement to have SLC in class 10. Due to the government system, only those who have reached the age of 14 can get SLC in the past according to the Education Act, but now there is a provision of SLC i.e. school living in class 12. However, many students were in trouble due to the 2028 provision in the Education Act.
Stating that this provision has caused problems to many students, the ministry has removed the age limit of SEE in the Act. The Ministry has removed the age threshold by amending clause (d) and (g) of section 2 of the Education Act, sub-rule 82 of rule 78 of the Education Rules 2049.
According to the National Examination Board (NEB), the age threshold has been removed in the upcoming SEE due to the age limit of 14 years in SEE, which deprives many students from taking the exam, keeping the results withheld even after passing the exam and raising the age later.
