Opposition warns of protest to go against ordinance

Kathmandu – A joint meeting of opposition parties held at the parliamentary party office of the main opposition party, the CPN-Maoist Center, has warned that they will reject the ordinances brought by the government and will hold a protest against it if necessary.

Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey has said that the government has brought the ordinance through wrong methods and procedures, which is unacceptable, and that they will hold street struggles if the government tries to pass bills through ordinances forcibly.

Stating that the bills under discussion in the parliamentary committees should be passed after discussion in the parliamentary committees, but the government is trying to pass the bills by bringing an ordinance and violating legal values, he said that issues of public concern, including the ordinance, will be raised unanimously in the parliament session starting Friday.
