Power-sharing of coalition government in the National Assembly election

A meeting between the ruling coalition partners at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar has agreed on the distribution of seats for the National Assembly elections.

As per today’s agreement, Congress has been allotted 6 seats, Maoist Center and Unified Socialists 5-5, Janata Samajwadi Party 2 and Rastriya Janamorcha 1 seat but one nominee is yet to be agreed upon to be nominated by the president.

National Assembly elections will be held in all the seven states for 19 seats except one nominated by the President.

According to the Election Commission, the date for registration of candidates for the National Assembly election has been fixed for tomorrow and the polling will be held on January 26.
