Second phone calls to be held between President Putin and President Biden in a month.

US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak by phone on Thursday evening regarding the security issues between the two countries and the situation in Europe. This will be the second phone conversation between the two leaders in a month.

The US has threatened Mr Putin with sanctions “like none he’s ever seen” if Ukraine comes under attack, as Ukrainian officials reported more than 100000 Russian troops have been sent close on the border with Ukraine.A US official told, “Mr Biden will offer his Russian counterpart a “diplomatic path” but remains “gravely” concerned by the Russian troop build-up on the border.”

President Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said Moscow is “in the mood for a conversation”, regarding the issue. At the same time, the US has consulted European leaders to coordinate a common response to the Ukraine issue.
