Supreme Court orders to summon documents of Bechan Jha

Kathmandu – A bench of Supreme Court Justices Saranga Subedi and Nityanand Pandey has issued an order to summon documents of Bechan Jha, who is in custody in the Bhutanese refugee case.

Jha had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding that the decision to detain him for trial be quashed. Hearing the writ, the bench of Subedi and Pandey ordered to summon the documents.

Jha was accused of extorting money by promising to get a decision on Bhutanese refugees from the Council of Ministers. He was arrested and brought back by the police from India. He is currently in the Central Jail in Sundhara.
