On the initiative of Home Minister Bal Krishna Khad, discussions have been held between the government and the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand regarding the implementation of the previous three-point agreement.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Badu, Attorney General Khamma Bahadur Khati, Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, Law Secretary Uday Raj Sapkota and Khadga Bahadur Vishwakarma from the CPN (Maoist) participated in the discussion held at the Ministry of Home Affairs today .
Home Ministry Spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel informed that the talks focused on the progress made so far in the implementation of the three-point agreement reached between the Government of Nepal and the CPN (Maoist).
“There has been a cordial discussion on the progress made so far in the implementation of the three-point agreement between the government and the CPN (Maoist) and how to move forward,” said Pokharel.
During the talks, CPN (Maoist) spokesperson Bishwakarma briefed the government on the cases filed against the party cadres during various agitations and the details of the jailed cadres. Ministry spokesperson Pokharel said that the government has also presented the details of the case to the CPN (Maoist) cadres who are still in jail.
After the meeting, CPN (Maoist) spokesperson Bishwakarma informed that the timeline for the implementation of the three-point agreement was made during the talks. The government has been positive in implementing our demands. Some topics have been finalized, some are in the process of being finalized. Hopefully, a conclusion will be reached soon, ‘said spokesperson Vishwakarma.
