Two election officials been removed from the polling station in Jhapa

Action has been taken against two polling officials of Jhapa . Shailendra Karna, a polling officer posted in Kamal village municipality-6 has been recalled by the District Election Office.

Karna, who was posted at Panini Mavic’s polling station ‘C’ at Kamal 6, had provided 88 voter identity cards to one one of the candidate. Chief Election Officer Tulasi Nepal informed that Karna had called back the candidate after he had provided the voter ID card to the candidate.

Similarly, Assistant Polling Officer of Jhapa Village Municipality-6 Surendra Basnet has been taken into custody on the charge of entering the polling station after consuming alcohol. Basnet, an assistant officer at Janata Higher Secondary School polling station ‘C’ in Saranamati, Jhapa-6, has been removed from the polling station after a voter complained that he had come under the influence of alcohol.He has been taken to the hospital for sobriety test.
