UCPN (M) Central Committee meeting postponed

CPN (Maoist Center) Central Committee meeting has been postponed. According to UCPN (M) Central Office Secretary Shri Ram Dhakal, the Central Committee meeting convened for January 11 has been postponed due to special reasons.

The Eighth General Convention of the UCPN (M) had given the responsibility of selecting the office bearers to the Central Committee. Even though the meeting was held once after the general convention, the office bearers could not be selected. The first meeting was held on January 3 after the General Convention, which ended electing Prachanda as the chairperson.

After that, the Central Committee meeting could not be held due to the Corona epidemic. The Maoist constitution provides for a 15-member office. According to the constitution, the UCPN (M) has yet to elect a senior vice president, six vice presidents, a general secretary, two deputy general secretaries, three secretaries and a treasurer.
