US imposed sanctioned on Russia

The United States has imposed sanctions on Russia over its intervention in Ukraine.

The United States has objected to Russia’s role in recognizing two rebel-held territories in Ukraine as an independent state.
Many other countries, including Europeans, have expressed support for the US sanctions, and have announced sanctions on their behalf.

The United States and European nations have warned that sanctions could be imposed longer if Russia invades Ukraine.
