Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi has said that the allegation of blockade on Nepal is baseless.

Speaking at a virtual press conference organized by the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, Ambassador Yanqi said that trade between Nepal and China has increased despite the Corona epidemic.”Trade between our two countries is 63 percent higher than last year. So the so-called soft blockade is baseless, ”she said.

She said, direct flights had been suspended due to the Corona epidemic and discussions are underway to resume operations.

She also said that a meeting would be held between the officials of Nepal and China’s Tibet region within a month to improve cross-border trade through Tatopani and Rasuwagadhi checkpoints.
