51 Nepalese died in UAE in two months period

Kathmandu – In the past two months, 51 Nepali workers have died in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to the Nepal Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Data from the embassy shows that during the first two months of the current fiscal year 2082/83, 32 deaths were reported in July (Shrawan) and 19 in August (Bhadra).

In comparison, 62 Nepalis had died in the UAE during the same period last fiscal year 2081/82. A total of 312 deaths were recorded in the UAE that year, averaging 26 per month. The year before, in fiscal year 2080/81, the number was 231.

The embassy stated that the causes of death include road accidents, workplace accidents, heart attacks, and other heart-related illnesses.

UAE grants amnesty to 120 Nepalese

Kathmandu- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted amnesty to 120 Nepalese. The amnesty was granted to 120 Nepali citizens who were in UAE jails on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the great festival of Muslims.

The Nepal Embassy in the UAE has informed that the amnesty has been granted by waiving the remaining period of their sentences. The embassy has issued a statement thanking the UAE government.

Nepalis who have reached the UAE for foreign employment have been imprisoned for various crimes.
