Kathmandu – Speaking at a program organized by the Buddhanagar Toll Improvement Committee on Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakash Man Singh has said that the government will return encroached public land.
The government has made a policy. There is also a law. Public land should remain public, right!'' Deputy Prime Minister Singh said,If someone encroaches on public land, the government will return the land and land in some places has already been returned, he said.
After the Supreme Court’s verdict, 1.5/1.6 million citizens were seen to be in trouble due to the 20-meter standard on the banks of rivers in the valley, including the Bagmati, and the government went to court seeking a review based on the report of a committee formed under the leadership of the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development, and for that reason, the problem has been resolved for the time being, he said, adding that the government has given high priority to passing the bills in the winter session starting from Magh 18 and enacting the necessary new laws.
