Kathmandu-The court has found Madan Rai guilty of sexual abuse. The bench of District Judge Narayan Prasad Dahal found Rai guilty on Thursday and ordered him to be presented in another hearing for sentencing.

The hearing on Magh 25 will decide what will be the sentence for him.

A case was registered against him on charges of sexual abuse on Jestha 21, 2080. At that time, he was released on a bail of 400,000.

Madan Rai, known as an agricultural expert, is accused of committing an offense under Sub-section 3 (a), (c) (e) of Section 66 of the Children’s Act 2075.

Rai was arrested and investigated by the District Police Office, Khotang on Baisakh 29.

A girl who studied at the Subhadra Madan Foundation run by Rai had filed a complaint against him for child sexual abuse.

Earlier, the police and the government attorney’s office had recorded a statement from him on Jestha 3. During his statement, he admitted to engaging in sexual activity.However, he stated that he engaged in such activities not with the intention of sexual abuse but with the aim of providing sex education.
